AUDIT OF ENERGY ECONOMY

Energy audit is a thorough assessment of a company's energy consumption, including its buildings, processes, and transportation usage. Its objective is to identify cost-effective ways to save energy. Audits can identify simple ways for companies to save energy and money, such as proper insulation of pipes in a factory.

Legislative Framework

According to the Act of the National Council of the Slovak Republic No. 321/2014 Coll. on Energy Efficiency and Amendments to Certain Acts, energy audits apply not only to the industrial and agricultural sectors but also to large enterprises defined under the conditions stated in the relevant law. The procedure for conducting an energy audit and the content of the written report are specified in Decree No. 179/2015 of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.

Large Enterprise and Its Obligations

The characteristics of a large enterprise can be derived from the definition of the categories of micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, whereby meeting at least one of the following criteria is sufficient: an enterprise that employs 250 or more persons, an enterprise with an annual turnover exceeding EUR 50 million, or a total annual balance sheet exceeding EUR 43 million, 25% or more of the assets or voting rights being directly or indirectly controlled jointly or individually by one or more public authorities.

A large enterprise is obliged to ensure the implementation of an energy audit in accordance with Act No. 321/2014 at least once every four years or an energy audit that is part of an established certified energy management system or environmental management system.

The result of an energy audit is a written report containing findings regarding the energy efficiency of the enterprise and recommendations for improvement. The audit provides invaluable information about energy use in the company, as well as ideas for improving energy performance.

Certified energy audit

Ensure efficient energy utilization in your company with a certified energy audit. Discover how to reduce costs and contribute to environmental protection.

Our company conducts a comprehensive energy audit that includes the following steps:

1, Preparatory Activities for the Audit

Defining the scope, objectives, and audit criteria together and gathering preliminary information about the building, equipment, or processes, such as energy consumption data, equipment specifications, and operational details.

3, Data Collection and Analysis

Collecting detailed data on energy consumption, such as energy supply and distribution contracts, energy invoices, meter data, and equipment performance data. Analyzing the data to establish reference energy efficiency values and identify patterns or trends.

5, Cost and Benefit Analysis

Evaluating the feasibility of implementing identified energy-saving measures by estimating costs, savings, and payback periods. This includes identifying the potential for utilizing renewable energy sources to reduce reliance on external energy sources for building energy demand.

7, Implementation of Measures

Even after delivering the Energy Efficiency Audit, we will be available for any consultations. We can also assist you in the process of selecting suppliers for individual measures and ensuring the quality of implementation until completion.

2, Site Inspection for the Audit

Conducting a thorough inspection of the building, equipment, and familiarizing ourselves with energy-consuming systems such as heating, cooling, lighting, and production equipment. We identify areas where energy is wasted or used inefficiently.

4, Identification of Energy Saving Opportunities

Assessing the energy efficiency of various systems and processes and identifying potential energy-saving measures, such as equipment modernization, operation optimization, or implementation of energy management procedures.

6, Conclusions and Recommendations

Preparing a comprehensive report on the energy audit, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations for improving energy efficiency. We will submit the report for review and approval. We will also provide proposals for measures aimed at higher energy efficiency in the organization, categorized as:

  1. No-cost measures
  2. Low-cost measures
  3. High-cost measures/investment measures

For each measure, potential energy savings and cash flows, changes in energy costs, and calculations of simple and discounted payback periods will be included. Environmental assessments will also be part of the output, including calculations of emissions before and after the implementation of the proposed measures.

We offer our clients
